Counselling vs Coaching ...

Counselling and coaching are two distinct forms of personal support that share some similarities, but also have some important differences.

Counselling is typically focused on helping individuals address and resolve emotional and psychological issues that are causing them distress or interfering with their ability to function in daily life. Counsellors work with clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, identify patterns and triggers that may be contributing to their problems, and develop coping strategies and solutions to address these issues.

Coaching, on the other hand, is focused on helping individuals identify and achieve specific goals related to personal or professional development. Coaches work with clients to clarify their values and priorities, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

While counselling and coaching can overlap in some areas, such as helping clients develop greater self-awareness and emotional intelligence, the primary focus and approach of each is different. Counselling is typically more focused on exploring and resolving issues related to mental and emotional health, while coaching is focused on helping clients achieve specific goals related to personal or professional growth.
